Riverside In Ingelheim

Ingelhein-Ost-Winkel Ferry

Situated along the west bank of the Rhein River, Ingelheim is part of the Rhein-Hessia region and located within the  the Federal State of Rheinland Palatinate (Rheinland Pfalz, Germany pronunciation). It offer a combination of modern living and rustic scenery. The city also servers as the seat of Mainz-Bingen district.

Established as an Imperial holding by Emperor Charlemagne the 9th century, the town has moved into the modern age while retaining some of its medieval character.

Throughout the day this area sees a goodly number of visitors but not to the point of becoming crowded. And in particular, you can get some very good pictures of the river, boats and landscape from this spot.

All in all, the area makes for a pleasant outing. By the way, for those who are into cycling, the area offers may excellent paved bike trails that connect a wide range of towns and villages that also offer excellent photo ops.

Visitors will find the town center easily accessable and which offers super markets, pharmacies, banks, restaurants, and cafes. All of which are within walking distance to one another.

Ingelheim is easily reached by car, or public transportation. For a more relaxing day trip, I would suggest taking a train. Weekends travelers can enjoy reduced prices for regional tickets. Information on pricing and availability can be found at the National Rail Service - Bahn-EN. Additionally, information regarding regional train service is provided by MRB - Mittel Rhein Bahn, Germany language only.

And finally, for additional points of interest while visiting Ingelheim visit the tourism office link here.

Have a great visit and cheers.
