There are lots of Air Traffic delays in place this morning and heading into the afternoon for many major airports across the USA and Canada. Here are the affected airports:

DFW, Dallas/Fort Worth International is on a ground stop due to thunderstorms in the area. All air traffic into and out of DFW has been halted. When DFW reopens Air Traffic travelers should expect delays throughout the day as there will be a bottleneck effect.

EWR, Newark Liberty International has ATC delays of about 45 minutes due to high winds in the New York area.

LGA, New York Laguardia has ATC delays of about 45 minutes due to high winds in the New York area.

IAH, Houston Intercontinental is experiencing ATC delays of about 30 minutes due to thunderstorms in the area.

MIA, Miami International is experiencing ATC delays of about 30 minutes due to thunderstorms in the area.

PHX, Phoenix Sky Harbor is experiencing ATC delays of about 30 minutes due to a runway closure at the field.

Many of the affected airports on this list are large airline hubs that see a lot of connecting passengers. I expect the delays at DFW to be the most severe throughout the day due to a total ground stop. Anyone who is flying today should make sure to check with the airline before heading to the airport. Find out if your flight will be delayed and see if you can avoid airports that are impacted by significant delays. Your airline will make no-fee changes to your flights if it is likely that you will be missing a connection!
