Jozef Pilsudski Mound in Krakow, Poland

in #travelfeed5 years ago

There are five mounds in Krakow. One of them is built between 1934-37. It is Jozef Pilsudski Mound. You can read about the turbulent history and detailed geographical position on Wikipedia:
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopiec_Pi%C5%82sudskiego_w_Krakowie

The following photos were taken during a beautiful Friday afternoon, with the sun shining brightly. In this circumstances I saw first time in my life a renovated mound.

Before I visited it, I was often on more famous Kosciuszko and Krak's Mounds.

Jozef Pilsudski's Mound is very well maintained. The science itself was built, very similar to the Kościuszko Mound. Main entrance to the stairs, two hedges, a cross and information boards.

We go up the paths through the serpentine to the same road, a magnificent view of the whole of Krakow, Balice, Kryspinow or Zabierzow.

From the Mound you can easily see and observe Bronowice district. The view beautifully complementing itself from the Kościuszko Mound located closer to the center, but also in the Wolski Forest.

I recommend visiting Pilsudski's Mound with a walk in the surrounding Wolski Forest, to collect mushrooms.

The entrance to the Mound is free.
