RE: Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland – Historical isolation with unique scenery
I'd love to go to the Orkneys ... my sister in law is an archaeologist and has done a few digs up there at Skarra Brae. A bit jelly..
That's a spin out. My sister is one too and done a dig there! Go the Vicsnorians.
Haven't heard that term in years (spin out) he he... she's not Australian .. she is English 💚 crazy coincidence... and a great one! What's your sisters name? I will ask Faith. Very small degrees of separation amongst archaeology folk I think.
Joanne Jordan is her name and she did the digging stuff when she majored in Archaeology in the 80's. She went to the Middle East too and pretended to be Indiana Jones. BUT she doesn't do that now as lack of jobs and ended up being a Centrelink bitch and I don't talk to her anymore haha.
Forget you are of English heritage. Is your sister still doing it?
Yeah I still say spin out and grouse and ace, when I'm in a stupid mood.
Ha me too. Im not English... hubby is. Yeah not a lot of cash in archaeology. Sister in law gardens now! She had a shitty employer that ripped her off. But she did work on time team with Tony Robinson.
