Hey, everybody!💃
(Insert Sophie Kachinsky's voice from 2 Broke Girls)😁

So few days ago, I started to write about the first part of my travel with my parents in Bali and here I am today to share about the other places we visited during our stay in the island.
(I bet some of you who are familiar with Sophie tried reading this part in her accent. You may lose it now, I release you from the spell. haha Even I have a hard time doing so. But if you're not familiar with Sophie, you may disregard this.) 😂😅✌

Anyway, continuing to my post about Bali, it is surprising to learn that we have some Filipino words that has the same meaning to them. I can't remember all of them now but the words that I recall are batu (bato in Ilocano and Tagalog or stone in English), bulan (Ilocano word for the moon and Month) or anak (your own kids) laki-laki (almost similar to the general term in Tagalog for Lalake, but this is specifically means your son in Bali). I learned about this while talking to our driver, Komang Endra1 . He was with us for almost 5 whole days and of course we all talked a lot about life, Bali, their culture and in those times, he'd just say these words sporadically that it would always stop us and we were like "Did you just say "____"? We also have that word in Ilocano/Tagalog in the Philippines!😅 That's how our conversations sometimes went. Although it was only a few words, it really got me excited that there's a place outside the Philippines where our "native words" are also "native" to them.

Aside from the similarity in our physical appearance that sometimes we were mistaken to be also Indonesian and the common words, one more thing we have in common is our love for Manny Pacquiao (MannyPac as Endra would call him). He said that Manny is really popular to them and they would always root for him everytime he has a fight.😅 One last thing, they also love "Pangako Sayo". He said that his wife always watches this in the afternoon and loves Yna and Angelo, too. It was another surprise to hear from a local that our Telenovela was also being aired and loved in their country.

So far, this is the only place where I felt that we were not too far away from home and that we were not too diferrent from them, as if we were locals. I've been to the other neighboring countries here in Asia like Hongkong, Thailand and Singapore, but I never felt the same. It makes we wonder if it is smarter that you get a local tour guide if you're visiting a new place instead of doing a DIY like how I'd usually do with my friends, @wander-full and @chileprop. While having a tour guide may be more costly, I just think that you'll get more connected and you'll learn more about their culture if you have a local guide. Or maybe this was all just because of the similarities I've mentioned earlier. I really don't know.😅

Anyway, let me now show you the other places we've been to.

1. If you want a very good local guide in Bali, you can contact Endra. He was so kind that my parents would still fondly talk about him and check on him up to this time. 😅
