🎡Europe - Weekly Round-Up #39

in #travelfeed6 years ago

Welcome to today's weekly Travelfeed Europe roundup brought to you by @jpphotography.

When we hear Europe, many think of London, Paris or Rome, but while Western and Central Europe are well-known destinations on the tourist map, the countries further East there are amazing places that are rarely visited. Today, we feature three posts introducing some of these places: Many Steemians have visited Warsaw for Steemfest, but did you know that Poland has so much more to offer? Further East in Russia there is the stunningly beautiful city of Kazan that most have probably never heard about. Or did you know about the cruel practice of dancing bears in the Balkans?

Three BEST posts for Europe

A quick recap - the post rewards of this curation post will be distributed as follows:

  • Half of the SBD post rewards will be paid out to the winning entries (please, expect a seven-day wait);
  • The rest of the earnings will be used to power up the @travelfeed account.

Once upon a time, in Poland...
written by @alexazapiec

Dear fellow Steemians this tale is for you - the extraordinary story of an unknown country, located somewhere in central-eastern Europe. My Motherland. Sure, an interesting one, diverse and somewhat intriguing. Very green and sunny but also pretty cold and snow-white in the wintertime. Rich in history and great personalities. Certainly, a very tasty and hospitable country, yet still one of Europe's most underrated lands…

A trip to Kazan (Russia)
written by @veta-less

Today I will tell you about our trip to the Russian city of Kazan. Kazan is the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is part of Russia. In the 5-6 century ad in this territory was the state of Volga Bulgaria, which was then captured by the troops of Genghis Khan. The age of Kazan is more than a thousand years.

The Dancing Bears
written by @danielapetk

I've never seen a dancing bear, but most people around The Balkans probably have. I've heard of them but I had no idea how cruel was the way they treated them.
