In the city of Sucre we stayed a few days, but it is such a beautiful city that we have a lot to tell you !! Here we go...

On our second day in Sucre, we went to Plaza 25 de Mayo, which is the central square of the city. There we sat in a seat, prepared the mate and we were observing a bit of everything that happened around us

There was a small rain, which at times became more intense, and at times calm. And that variation directly influenced the people walking through the square, returning to their homes, going to work, leaving school, walking slowly, jumping or running.

The firm Cholas in their stalls, despite the rain.

At one point, Kevin went for a walk around the square to see the buildings that surround it. I stayed with the mate on the seat then. As it was raining and it was located in a strategic place (just below a plant), a lady approached me, sat down next to me and we talked for a while. In the meantime I made him taste the mate, but he did not like it very much.
For those who do not know, the mate is an infusion that is made with yerba mate, inside a container that also receives the name of mate. Place the yerba in the mate, place a bulb and add hot water (but not boiling it because it burns the yerba and leaves a bitter taste). The mate is sucked, and it is returned to the starter who returns to add water and passes it to the next one in the round. It is a tradition, which is part of the culture of Argentina and Uruguay mainly (I do not know if in other countries, but at least in Bolivia and Peru they call mate something else). Sharing a matecito, is a very particular custom for us. However, for those who try it for the first time may not like their taste.

We do not have a picture with the lady, but here a picture of us enjoying the mate.

Something that caught our attention was the dedication and precision of the gardeners who build the stonemasons. All the plants and flowers are placed in such a capricious way with the intention of forming neat figures, drawings, circles, garlands.
In Parque Bolívar, for example, it was incredible to find some toads made of plants! As a sculpture, two toads of considerable size sitting on the sides of an arch in a sector of the park, really beautiful.

They are really works of art.

Also in Parque Bolívar, there is a mini Eiffel Tower installed as a viewpoint. That is, you can go up and see the park from above.

Just that day 11/10 was celebrated on Women's Day, so there was a crafts fair, and a musical show in the park. Although they spoke in Quechua (which is one of the native languages of Bolivia), and we could not understand, it was very nice because they were celebrating and dancing.

We were just 2 days in Sucre, there is much more to see and do. This is a brief description of what we met during our stay in the city. Those who are in Bolivia, we advise you to visit it !!!

We are waiting for you in the next post !!
