Located in the town of Roznov pod Radhostem in the Eastern Moravian Region of the country, the Wallachian Open Air Museum is a unique, open-air museum dedicated to displaying and preserving culture and traditions of the Wallachian Region.

Founded in 1925, the museum offers its visitors a unique insight into the traditional life of the Wallachian people, their crafts, folklore and much more. The museum is particularly famous for being home to hundreds of traditional timber structures and picturesque wooden houses dating back to the 19th century.

Visitors can even taste some traditional Wallachian meals and try old trades and crafts typical of this area. The museum is open all-year-round and the entrance fee ranges from 40 to 200 CZK (1.5 – 7 EUR/USD) depending on what parts of the museum complex you want to see.

Once you get enough of all the history and picturesque architecture, you can head out to nature to have some outdoor fun as the museum is surrounded by the Beskydy Mountains, one of the most beautiful mountain ranges of the Czech Republic.

I have read about open air museum before. It is really symbolizes culture and tradition I guess . Czech Republic I am coming :P

We are waiting for you:)...

Love how you give your travel tips and what you recommend for us to check out if we are traveling in the beautiful Czech Republic.
These are beautiful photos and the views are gorgeous.
Would love to check out the museum and try the Wallachian food.

Gald to hear you find those little travel tips useful! Those truly are some of the best places to visit when in the Czech Republic. Have a good one. Tomas

Looks like a really interesting place to visit and learn about the culture. Other than the beautiful scenery, I would be very excited to try the Wallachian cuisine. That is always one of my favorite things when I am traveling is to try the local foods. Too many people travel to new areas but stick to the same diet and are scared to try something new. I always laugh to myself when I am in a foreign area and I see Americans going into McDonalds or other fast food places that we have here at home.

Spot on, I am exactly the same and do not understand the ones that are just sticking to what they are accustomed to.

PS: Thanks for getting in touch, I will get back to you later on today or tomorrow morning.

All I can say is Wow! This place is beautiful, far from bustling city life where there is a peaceful atmosphere and the sweetness of air and environment. And also an added bonus that this place will bring you back in time because of the famous Wallachian Open Air Museum. This is a very nice place to spend you time with your love ones and enjoy the beauty of Roznov with beautiful mountain ranges and picturesque architecture. This is the kind of place that I wanted to visit. Thanks for sharing this @czechglobalhosts.

Wallachian open air muesum looka like a place from the cowboys movie except the environment is really green and beautiful. Beskydy Mountains and it’s sights are just breathtaking eveb from a pic,I cannot imagine how good it looks in real. I want to visit Czech Republic so eagerly and i will one day .thanks for sharing tomas.

I see wallachian feel alive at times klasic, currently very hard to find architecture like this,
built in 1925, but the building still looks intact for tens even hundreds of years to come.
where can I see a complete rebuilding of the wallachian story?
thanks for sharing @czechglobalhost
