Tree Planting Project

Day 19

47 Trees Planted So Far!

The earth is suffocating from the abusing of deforestation in countries all around the globe. The reason varies, all from large and continuous accidental forest fires during hot summers to global cooperation's wish to gain profitable money to their already large money bags.

I will post one post per day to collect as much post reward as possible to donate for planting trees in various places of the earth using the service of One Tree Planted.

Why I do this?

As the world we live in is going global, we read more and understand more today than at any other time before, I see more and more selfishness. People have a hard time to take in the global perspective, and that what You do every day have an impact on people on the other places of the world. I do this to make a small contribution towards a better, more understanding, and greener world.

I believe in the platform for a greater good, for something that can be used to help others. Each day will have a short summary on the country or project that I support, making the post not only about supporting something, but also educational for you who contribute towards it.

Please help me help others and our planet.

Latest Contribution

Today we plant 2 trees in California, a state in the Pacific Region of the United States, with 39.6 million residents.

About 45 percent of the state's total surface area is covered by forests, and California's diversity of pine species is unmatched by any other state. California contains more forestland than any other state except Alaska. Many of the trees in the California White Mountains are the oldest in the world; an individual bristlecone pine is over 5,000 years old.

Planting Project

California's forests provide innumerable benefits, including clean water and air, recreation, timber, habitat, and beautiful scenery. Healthy forests also play an important role in addressing climate change. Five years of drought and a large-scale bark beetle infestation have seriously damaged California’s forests. 2017’s record-breaking wildfire season burned more than 1.3 million acres – an area the size of Delaware. Now, a record 129 million trees need to be restored in California.

Trees play an important role in the vitality of California communities. Your contribution will help our amazing partners plant trees and restore forests throughout California. These foresters work hard to promote improved vegetation planning and resource management, helping to reduce the risk of catastrophic fires and floods in the region.

To maximize the impact of your donation, our partner will determine the most appropriate species of tree to plant, depending on the time of year. Species planted include the Sugar Pine, California Redwood (State Tree), Maple, Elderberry, Willow, Birch, Dogwood, Cedar, Giant Sequoia, and Walnut.

The combination of low precipitation and record high temperatures during California’s most recent drought (2012–16) resulted in dramatically increased tree mortality and large, severe wildfires. The State Forest Service now spends over 50% of its budget fighting fires, when a decade ago it was less than 20%.

California’s forests need active management in order to improve their health, reduce the risk of major wildfires and pest infestations, and protect this beautiful natural playground for future generations. Our amazing reforestation partners work with several state and federal forestry assistance programs as well as private landowners, aiming to improve the health and productivity of forest lands.

As well as recovering fire-damaged lands, your support for reforestation in California will help restore native species that are endangered by fungus and bark beetle infestations, such as the Sugar Pine.

The Process

Once a posts pay-out is finalized, ~75% of the value will be used to purchase trees through One Tree Planted. I will use WirexAPP to purchase with Cryptocurrency and minimize the loss through fees. The goal is to plant as many trees as possible.

The Result

It's still early in the process of collecting funds, there will be a few until anything is paid out, I'm still going to purchase trees until there are post rewards to use. Thus I will have a negative result for the moment.
