The needler in Halo one was a beast! No wonder they nerfed it for Halo 2, which was shit anyway :p They also made the handgun useless. The Halo 2 handgun was actually worse than the dual needler.
The hunting rifle in LFD was great too, because it had punch through but admittedly took lots of skill and good knowledge of the game to use well.

if you use it right it'll knock down some of the biggest enemies on the board
