44% of Latin American companies believe that sustainability increases their profitability, according to the second edition of the 'PwC Survey on Sustainability in Latin America', conducted with the collaboration of IAE Business School and CEADS, published in the first half of 2016.

The same survey indicates that approximately 80% of companies consider it to be a relevant topic for their business. According to the study, 43% of respondents indicated that the topic is part of their core strategy and is positioned in the top of their priorities. In Central America, companies evolved from the isolated management of CSR to the coordinated and integral performance of a socially responsible company. By making this transition, companies guarantee their long term and shield their operations. Consumers have driven this business interest. Socially aware global consumers tend to be younger (63% under 40) and feel "influential and powerful" because of the impact they generate through their virtual performance on social networks.
