As a new member, first I find it a bit hard to understand what is this site do and how it's work. So, I try to summarize to making it easier for those who just join in this community.

What is Steemit and how does it work?

Basically you can read it in here on Steemit FAQ in your profile, but some people might think it's too long. Steemit user @mindover has make it simple for you understand it, including how to post a story in your blog: Everything You Need to Know to Get Started!

Update:
To post images is now easy, by click selecting them under the second box in your posting page. Don't forget to put the image-credit if the pictures not yours.

What syntax that I need to know before posting?

In the right of preview area, you will find Markdown Styling Guide where you can find the way how to make bold, italic, header, list, URL link, quotes, tables, mention, emoji and many more. There's also a syntax to make justify alignment.

How to post in communities?

My first mistake was when I intent to make a post in a community but ended up posting on my own blog. After that, it remained on my blog forever even though I tried changing the first tag. So, be careful not to rush when posting something. To start publishing content in community, just click the name of the community and click New Post button.

Is it possible to delete a post?

Nope, but... there is an alternative that @headsink has written. One thing to look out for when deleting a blog is there is a changes you will get downvote.

Where to put my tags?

There is one line rectangle box at the end of the page where you write your content. This is where you enter the tags for your post. If you write it in the box, you don’t need to put the hashtag sign before the tags. But if you write it in your posting, you have to use it. Be careful, the first tag you add stays like the primary tag for your post and cannot be changed afterwards.

How to boost my post by tagging?

Tags will help people find your posts. Now (in 2020) Steemit allow us to tag from 5 up to 8 keywords, so use it to the maximum number of tags. Unfortunately, to see popular tags in Steemit only in beta version which is around 2-4 years ago. But, if you want to see what was the popular tags in the beginning era, @biletskiy has write it in here.

How to be in hot and trending topic?

This is an explanation from @evolved08gsr about Manipulating the Steemit Hot and Trending Pages and How to boost your Steemit post in trending by @jwolf. In the end, if you want to catch a bigger fish all involve the steem itself. What I mean is a promotion. See the tutorial created by @furn01 about how to do it.
