What a gorgeous post. I love your reference to the Upanishads, which I've been studying of late. It's funny you should mention sociopaths and your childhood - I was watching the most beautiful little doco we have here called Australian Story, and his story parellels yours. He was told he had a low IQ and was a sociopath and that defined him - he entered the forest in basic psychosis for years until he just had an ephiphany that it was him creating the world not the other way around - I mean, this guy had a tough life - and he stopped drinking and went back to school and now lecture in sociology after doing his PHD.
