Starting a trucking company!!!

in #trucking7 years ago (edited)

I started my company 3 years ago with one truck and i have done okay. So now i am buying another truck and putting a driver in that truck. I dont know if i will make a lot of money from it, but i have to try. I will post a picture of my truck so you all can check it out. I will now make a video explaining how to get started in trucking.

This is cool! I never worked as a trucker but have driven tow trucks in the past. OTR driving can make for a difficult lifestyle. Are you focusing on local, regional or national? Nice rig and paint scheme by the way.

Thanks man i am a national driver. I go to canada as well, i love traveling the land and seeing all there is to see. I plan on posting many videos of places i go and all my experiances.

Sounds like you will have your niche on lock for sure. My kid brother was a national truck driver. How he got his CDL let alone his license is a mystery to me...lol

Congratulations on the big step to expand your company most important thing is the driver! do you know him? for how long and how good you know him ? Is he good on PTI and how dose he treat your truck 99% of the time it goes bad because of the driver. You'll run into big issues if you give him an old truck by maintenance and by taking off if you lease sometimes have one truck you run it better than 5 with drivers try an owner op first and see how it goes remember no one will treat your company the way you treat it best luck and hope you'll find what you're looking for

I have been a o/o for 3 years now. I just rented another truck 3 weeks ago and so far so good. I rented because there is no risk for me if it dont work out just give back truck and fire driver.

That's a very smart idea but kinda expensive as I think they charge around 700 a week plus mileage isn't ? But if you're making 500 + a month net profit after all expenses and taxes it's a good deal
