#Trump on Healthcare

in #trump7 years ago (edited)

Here is a look back at Donald Trump during the campaign trail. He was asked about why he was previously for Single-Payer Healthcare in the USA, and why he changed his mind.

Looking at this with an objective kind of perspective, do we think opening insurance to the private industry on a national scale, across state lines, is a good idea?

If a small town insurance company in Montana or Alaska or somewhere inexpensive to live, could offer cheaper insurance to people in CA or NY ... I do see benefit. Doesn't a national free-market mean that the people of CA should be able to shop anywhere in the country?

On the other hand, if a Californian goes shopping (for healthcare/medical svcs) anywhere in the USA... all the prices are inflated. Trump really needs to address the issue of price gouging for life services. In his commentary in another video, he alludes to high paid doctors as the problem -which is scapegoating in the wrong direction IMO

Solution: Make maximum annual income barrier for insurance and drug companies.
