The Bible and the true trust: For there is power in God to help, and to cause to stumble. 2 Chronicles 25:8

The Bible in many of its stories reminds us of the importance of a teaching: "Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save" Psalm 146:3. And this is so because beyond any plan that men make, the eternal providence of God is what determines the course of history. This is why prophets and their prophecies have been so important in the history of the Bible, when a prophecy is true, no human action can change it.
Those who do not proceed with righteousness and do not put their trust in God are destined to fail, and this was what Amaziah, king of Judah, confirmed, who by deviating from the path of God suffered a terrible defeat in battle and died as a result of a conspiracy of his own people.
The Bible says that Amaziah, after the death of his father Joash, took over as King. Amaziah built a powerful army, adding young people from Judah to their ranks and hiring mercenaries from Israel, says the Bible, although when he went to seek the advice of the prophets, one answered him: "Your Majesty, these troops from Israel must not march with you, for the LORD is not with Israel—not with any of the people of Ephraim. Even if you go and fight courageously in battle, God will overthrow you before the enemy, for there is power in God to help, and to cause to stumble. 2 Chronicles 25:7-8.
And so, while Amaziah trusted the word of the prophet, he was successful in his actions, because he did not follow the ideas of the one who gives his advice according to his own convenience. But Amaziah, after his victories, made the mistake of fearing men more than God, and thus he honored the Gods of those he had defeated.
In this way, another prophet announced his destruction for his sin, and that is how it happened, he was defeated by the Israelites and murdered sometime later.
