Turkey to vote, first partial data: Erdogan at 58.8%

According to the first real data on the presidential elections in Turkey, with 24% of the polled seats, which are not statistically representative of the whole country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan is at 58.8% of the votes, while his main challenger Muharrem Ince at the 26.9%.

The head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan voted in Istanbul for the presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey, which he himself convened two months ago, anticipating them by almost a year and a half. "The turnout seems good, it's already over 50% already, and it shows how much democracy there is in Turkey, so far there has not been any serious problem" at the polls, he told reporters at his seat in Uskudar Asian side of the metropolis on the Bosphorus.
"The period that will come will be much better than the current bureaucratic oligarchy," Erdogan said, referring to the entry into force of the new presidential system. "Turkey is experiencing a democratic revolution, and I believe that participation is also high for this perception," he added.
To be elected in the first round, Erdogan will need an absolute majority. Otherwise, a run-off in two weeks is scheduled. His most trusted challenger is Muharrem Ince, candidate of the Social Democrat Chp.
