Does a turntable make sense in 2019?

It is not always feasible to wonder why those who designed and created them are born to certain products. Luckily, though, I was able to ask Tom DeVesto why he was a turntable in 2019.

Tom is the heart of Como Audio for those who don't remember, and he was the founder of Tivoli Audio. In last year's interview, I told you his tale, his passion for Italy (considering its roots), which you can find in the article "After 40 years of career, start again from Kickstarter: Tom DeVesto and his Como Audio."

Como Audio is now also offering the latest of its initiatives, Como Audio Turntable BT, a turntable with Bluetooth connectivity, after offering Wi-Fi wireless audio devices.

Is a turntable meaningful in 2019?
The answer from Tom DeVesto was simple. "There is real audio quality in vinyls. Notwithstanding the increase in digital music quality, digital sampling always leads to a loss of something. Analogously, everything is always there. If you take a vinyl today, it has all the nuances of when the piece was recorded." You can agree or not (I have some reservations about it personally), but it is the view of those who have been dealing with audio for over 40 years and must definitely be taken for their value. The second reason is the value of the different vinyls that many of us still have at home, which is also emotional.

Quality and listening convenience are two fundamental ideas of the entire Como Audio proposition as well as the fresh product. Even when set up, the turntable is simplified to the maximum, as it does not require weight or anti-skating changes. The turntable is equipped with a pre-mounted Ortofon OM10 head on 8.6 "(218.44 mm) aluminum arm. It has an MDF frame and a high mass steel plate. It has 33/45 RPM belt drive and selectable velocity with digital control (78 RPM with optional strap and stylus) and provides three modes of connection and listening: wireless Bluetooth, Phono MM, line-up.
