[TV Discovery] Brad Neely's Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio

in #tvdiscovery6 years ago (edited)

Brad Neely's Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio was an animated sketch comedy show that aired on [adult swim] over the summer of 2016, although you can still catch it on their website. It was created by the titular Brad Neely (China, Il.) and was mostly made up of song segments composed by the man himself, as well as short films and satirical routines. Sadly, it was canceled after just one season.

Neely himself started his online career making web comics, but didn't really burst into the scene until 2003. It was when he released Wizard People, Dear Reader, a recorded narration meant to be listened to alongside a queued up, muted Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Neely has always dealt in the absurd and cutting edge comedy. In 2007, he worked with the South Park team on the critically acclaimed episode Le Petit Tourette and from there got his own [adult swim] animated show called China, Il which follows college faculty in the quite frankly crazy world of China, Il.

“Style shouldn’t be something you choose, but something you can’t shake,” Brad Neely, creator of a new show on Adult Swim, tells The Creators Project.

Back to the topic at hand, Sclopio Peepio featured so many great guest appearances including Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Father John Misty. As I'm sure you've noticed, I've scattered a few quality sketches from the show around this post for you to try out. Oh, but what about that name? Well, apparently his goal was to make up words that didn't sound like anything else, and would only be associated with the show. I think he achieved that goal for sure.

Have you seen Brad Neely's Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio? Or, what did you make of the sketches included in this post? Let me know your thoughts and feelings down in the comments section, and as always make sure to follow me for the latest Internet, Pop Culture and Technology updates. Oh, and as a side note, I'm trying to get a new tag started; #tvdiscovery so if you write posts about shows you enjoy and others might too, then add the #tvdiscovery tag to your posts. I'll be keeping an eye on the tag for new content, so expect a helping hand if you do join. Until we meet again, take it easy!
