Writers! Win Five Steem! Dec. 11 Twenty-four Hour Short Story Contest--A Chef creates gingerbread men that battle marshmallow snowmen in the kitchen.
The 24 hour short story challenge
(But you'll get a little more time than that...)
I am fascinated by science fiction writer Harlan Ellison writing short stories in a book store window. He wrote short stories, with everyone watching, for years. People started to questioned if he already had the stories, so he began to take suggestions for topics from people watching. Chris Carter of X-files fame gave him the topic of a 102-year-old pregnant corpse, and he wrote a story based on that idea.
So thus the idea behind this contest was born. You can write a short story in a short amount of time.
Click here for last week's winners and entries.
Here are the terms of the contest.
Write a short story no longer than 2,000 words, based on the topic phrase.
Here is the topic for you short story:
A chef creates gingerbread men that battle marshmallow snowmen.

Cheers!
When my youngest nephew was fifteen years old, he showed an inclination for cooking and the preparation of different dishes, sweets, salty food, cold dishes, among others.
My dear mother observed this inclination of my nephew Carlos and asked me to help him enrol in a cooking school, which I accepted with joy, I felt it was the best path my nephew could take because he had lost his way, I did not know what to do with his life, he had surrounded himself with bad friends and that worried my mother.
It was then that my nephew, with my financial support and my mother's loving support, began his journey to become an excellent cook.
By 2014 he was the Chef of a renowned restaurant and was asked to make a special Christmas Eve dish, he thought he could make a main course accompanied by ham bread and chicken salad, with a special touch of pineapple and honey and for dessert some biscuits in the form of gingerbread men.
In front of the restaurant where my nephew worked, there was a big hotel where a Chef worked with whom my nephew had initiated a great culinary rivalry, since both were very famous, and on Christmas night the competition was special.
As many guests were coming to the dinner scheduled by the restaurant as it had gained much fame for its dishes, my nephew stayed very late in the restaurant, but also the chef of the restaurant opposite had stayed late making a creation that we could never imagine, an army of snowmen made with marshmallow.
The confrontation was going to make mortal, my nephew had made his beeches with the secret ingredients of the Amazonian Indians, and his gingerbread biscuits contained the secret powder of the High Orinoco Indians, which gave it an extraordinary flavor and a special magic.
Then came Christmas night, my nephew with his special ingredients and the other chef with his army of little snowmen, the confrontation was going to be terrifying and jumping. the diners were astonished and very satisfied with haute cuisine.
But shortly before midnight the gingerbread cookies came to life, all the guests were frightened and left the restaurant terrified, while in the hotel something similar happened, the snowmen stretched their arms to tie the diners who fought with all their strength to let go, all ran towards the hotel doors.
On the other hand, in my nephew's kitchen there was a battle with cookies, my nephew didn't know what to do, he had a mixture of feelings (fear, joy, satisfaction). The cookies ran across the great dining room and went out to the street where the snowmen were already, the gingerbread cookies threw their multicolored magic powders that wrapped the atmosphere and the snowmen threw many sweets, all saw this confrontation amazed, because unlike other wars this was a war of sweets and many colors that filled the hearts with joy, there were no winners only hearts full of love on Christmas night .
