Uber accused of cashing in on bomb explosion by charging almost double to take terrified New Yorkers home
It's funny how they don't see the irony in their post. They think it's shameful to charge riders more in a time of emergency, but don't think about the drivers needing to be compensated more to incentivize them to go pick people up. I'm sure drivers are just as terrified to be in that situation as the people needing rides. If fares remained the same or even if they were lowered during this time, you'd have a bunch of people standing around waiting for rides.
