First Presidential Candidate To Support Universal Basic Income (UBI)

in #ubi5 years ago

Andrew Yang is running for President as a Democrat in 2020. He is the first presidential candidate ever whose campaign focuses on implementing a form of UBI, which he calls "Freedom Dividend." He believes new technologies – robots, software, artificial intelligence – have already destroyed more than 4 million US jobs, and in the next 5-10 years, they will eliminate millions more. A third of all American workers are at risk of permanent unemployment.

He's not a career politician. He is an entrepreneur who claim to understand the economy. He promises to implement the Freedom Dividend, a universal basic income (UBI) for every American adult over the age of 18: $1,000 a month, no strings attached, paid for by a new tax on the companies benefiting most from automation.

Here's who Andrew Yang in 30 seconds
