A quick dessert

So, the other day, I tried to make...
Blonde Brownies!

Blonde Brownie result!

The recipe I followed today was from a post I found on [Pinterest](https://pin.it/7B6R7ttKt). It seemed like a really short and quick recipe, so I thought, why not!

The ingredients for the recipe are as follows:

  • All-purpose flour (2 cups)
  • Baking powder (2 teaspoons)
  • Butter (Half cup)
  • Brown sugar (2 cups)
  • Eggs (2)
  • Vanilla essence (1 teaspoon)
  • Chopped walnuts (1 cup)

These ingredients are around £9.34 total, this is 56.04 STEEM I think, but I basically already had them in my cupboard so jumped straight into it! (This would prove to be a mistake).

The recipe used salt, which I decided not to add, in the end, it honestly made no difference.

Before I put the batter in the baking tray I was going to use, I decided to use parchment paper as it makes it easier to clean afterwards, and I felt that the batter in my bowl was quite dry? I was worried and added 2 dashes of milk. This was definitely a bad idea as it made it a really liquidly batter, and nothing like the blonde cakes I've ate before. This really confused me so I don't think I'd make this recipe again.

Also you might notice in the picture, but I don't have many walnuts in my batter. This is because I actually did not have enough in my cupboard, and realised too late.

Cooling cake

So, this picture above is the cake cooling, it came out quite hard compared to the Blonde I've ate in the past - usually they are a bit soft and like... melt in your mouth.

My review of the recipe

I'm not sure what went wrong as I followed the recipe to the T. But I would say this recipe had a massive downside of no pictures to compare your batter/progress to, so it was a constant guessing game of is my batter right? is it meant to look like this and so on.

Anyway, that's it for today, thanks again for reading and see you next time!

Hope my posts are looking a bit neater, been trying to follow the newcomer's markdown guide haha.
