Hello all, so this is my first ULOG post after getting certified as a Ulogger under the wings of @surpassinggoogle . The process of getting certified was pretty easy and took me nothing less than a few minutes. Well boy am i glad i finally did it, because laziness has been my best friend lately and coupled with work and stress.

You see, i work for an insurance company here in Nigeria and i must tell you, insurance in Nigeria is quite different from the way it is in European countries. First of all, people don't welcome the idea here because they prefer to not protect their property or anything they hold in value, but instead bank with the thought that nothing bad will happen. What about the other bank where some uneventualities occur? Would they be able to recover quickly from such uneventualities? That's where insurance protects you.

I am a quiet person naturally, i don't talk much but i observe more. I knew the job was not necessarily a good fit for me, but i also believed in challenging myself to overcome obstacles. You can call it my way encouraging myself that everything would be just fine.

Eight months down the job and i wasn't really at my best yet. Infact, i felt a big hole was getting bigger and even more bigger inside me, for each day i had to go to work.

I ABSOLUTELY HATED THE JOB.

And why?

It was because the job had to do with sakes, marketing, talking to strangers/ striking a conversation with strangers and trying to convince them to buy an insurance policy. I wouldn't say i could not do it, but it just wasn't who my brain had been programmed to be. I found it difficult striking conversations with total strangers, especially when i knew i was about to market a product to them.

DOES IT MEAN AM PROUD?

Maybe if they had swooped my ass in a chair all day, sitting in front of a computer screen, maybe i would have been able to market properly to complete strangers. But insurance is a pretty sensitive issue in Nigeria so it would be time wasting convincing anybody online to buy a policy.

YES I TRIED IT!!!

And it didn't work as planned. The old face to face way was always better. People can trust who they see and meet more than the person hiding behind a screen.

Tomorrow is the day i call it quits and find something better to do with my life. I have given it a shot, stretched myself, shamelessly approach and compliment strangers just so they patronize me, sold my personality to the job.

TOMMOROW I QUIT!
