Ulog from the fat chick; now thin

fitinfun You can do it if I did! sharon before and after.jpg

I was a fat four year old who got thin at 50 and now I’m almost 60 and still thin. It’s shocking. It’s also shockingly easy to maintain my weight for the last eight years. I did not see that coming. I am so much happier and healthier like this that I never plan to gain weight again.

When I gain a few pounds, I just have to make small corrections and then I’m back on track. I've even had two occasions when I got too thin and had to eat better to gain weight. I never would have believed that before it happened.

It’s nothing like it used to be when I lost weight from 275 pounds. Now I can control my weight easily at around 140-150.

I try to explain this to people – other obese people like me – that they can do it too.

If you ask me what I’m doing today or what I do for a living the answer has been the same since I finished losing weight in 2011.

I’m trying to help other obese people lose weight naturally like I did.

Sometimes my trying works and mostly it falls on deaf ears.

But I persist.

I do this every minute of every day that I do not have to do something else.

Because every moment of my life between the age of 4 and the age of 50 was ruined by my obesity.

My fat self was always a problem, a fear, a barrier. Most harmfully, my health suffered badly and I have major lifelong negative effects from that. Bad ones you would not want. Serious health conditions that make life difficult.

But still I am thin.

My goal, prayer, hope, plan, and dream is that you lose weight at a younger age than I did. You do it when your kids are young or before you have them. You get it under control now and suffer less consequences later.

My son suffers ptsd directly because of my obesity. I’ve written about that here before. If you do not think your kids suffer from your obesity – think again. They do.

I can’t stop because of the other kids and my kid.

But to make this a #ulog

I just finished and returned from a visa trip out of Thailand today. I got off the plane a few hours ago. I need to do this every three months - arrange visa's, fly out to some other country, and fly back a few days later with a new visa. This is always a stressful time – crossing borders and being scanned a lot and needing to be places at the exact time even though you have never been there before or speak the language.

On this trip, everything was wonderful, except for the few bumps in the road I survived.

Posting to the #ulog tag

I think I will start doing a regular #ulog post for a time. It’s an idea of my hero @surpassinggoogle to have us start recording our lives daily in some way. Just a good jumpstart to blogging and getting your thoughts out without rules. Go read the introduction post and I know you will be enthusiastic like I am.

How to reduce inflammation fitinfun.jpg

I'm working on reducing inflammation these days and blogging about that too. Reducing inflammation is a good first step to better health so please come join me!

Greetings, fitinfun

I do not know how your blog came to me, but, I read your post and I found it very legal to lose weight. You can tell in your words that you were very happy with what happened. This increases our self-esteem right?

Good that his method used went well and his weight loss was consistent.

Thanks for the posting you made and can encourage people if they want to lose weight too.

Thank you and good night!

It's really encouraging, looking at the before and after photo's it's like magic.
Nice #ulog

Aw! Not magic! But it feels like a fairy tale :)

So @julisavio -

You voted my post for 9 cents and you voted your comment for $2.80! My self-esteem tanked due to your actions!!!!

That is insulting and is a highlight of bad manners.

I would love to know if you do this all day and if other people wonder about you too.

I can afford to lose some extra weight. How did you lose the weight ?

Here is what I did to beat obesity: I lost 130 pounds in four years and I thought that was fine. Then I lost about 15 more in the next two years. Now I have remained stable.

All of this was and is ongoing. For example,

  • I first started exercising 10 minutes a day 7 days a week - now it is at least one hour 7X a week.
  • I first started trying to get my Vitamin C by food each day - now I try to get all nutrients by food.
Everything was like that - chipping away at it.

My list:

  • Made the decision to change and did not give up for 4 years.
  • Got over my excuses and took action.
  • Learned skills about food and stopped eating poison. No gmo's, chemical additives, flavors or colors, pesticides etc. I eat high protein and high fat, few carbs except veggies now - but the key is "no poison" if I can help it. I learn something new about what to avoid all the time as the mainstream food sources get worse.
  • Exercise every day within my limits. I have health conditions to modify for.
  • Got good hydration with a lot of healthy fluids.
  • Started getting better rest and sleep.
I still do all of this today. I got to my goal weight in Oct 2011.

My fat self was always a problem, a fear, a barrier. The most damaging thing is that my health suffered a lot and I have significant negative effects throughout my life. The bad guys you didn't want. Serious health conditions that make life difficult.

I don't know how I manage to lose so much weight, I'm sorry I can't understand the videos, since I don't speak English, but it's fascinating that I've achieved that! many people deal with our weight for years, I have given up many times and I feel frustrated by my unsuccessful attempts, my lack of will is the protagonist, I hope to learn a little more from you

I'm so happy to read this! Please join in on my inflammation series linked at the bottom of this post. That's where I'm starting with everyone who wants to get healthy.

Please follow and connect with @majes.tytyty to work on your English. He's a teacher posting all kinds of ESL help and will work with you in his comments. I know you will improve.

I gave up every single day for all of my life until the day I started trying to lose weight. I hope this is your day. Saturday May 5 2018.

I hope this is my day! I hope you don't mind, this is my day. I'm coming.

Good job - do something every day. Go comment on my inflammation posts :)

Good idea to start this ulog and great way to introduce it with your journey from fat to thin. Also, good to hear the visa run went well, it can be a bit of a nightmare. Becca does it regularly too, in fact hers is in three weeks.

You don't have to do it as much with your visa right? Lucky!

You guys could post to this. 300-500 words and 1 photo per day.

Sam doesn't, but Becca does as she is still on a part time teacher contract (out of choice; full time contract offers a lousy 14 days holiday, but you get more hours thus more pay). Visa run every other month.

We'll look into this Ulog, yet we might get into vlogging some of our interesting days.

Thanks for sharing your story @fitinfun. Your determination and persistent were key to where you are today. You look amazing and a beautiful lady too.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate your compliment.

You're welcome my friend. Keep doing what you do and stay beautiful. :-)

Congratulations on your outcome. Inflammation is an important thing to address.

It is! And there are a lot of easy fixes. I hope you'll join in. I will be doing this for a few months.

This is very effective maintaining healthy diet and doing exercise everyday. Your still very sexy my friend @fitinfun.
