Ulog #9 : A Surprised Morning by Superstitious Thing

Today in the morning I went to visit my friend's house to see her new baby born. There were 3 of us, Odah, Wawa and me. Before that, we arranged to meet in one of shopping centre in Banda Aceh to buy a gift for the baby. We've planned to meet each other at 9:30 am.

Anyway, I won't tell you about visiting my friend's house this time, but?
Here it is.

Before meeting them, I was trying to find a local small restaurant (warung) to have a breakfast. It is in Khaju, near a jail. I ate "Lontong" as I love this traditional food so much.

Warung

While I was eating, the owner of the place told me something. She was afraid because before I came, there was a woman (her costumer) who asking her to believe in superstitious thing. The woman said that her restaurant is a bit quite from buyers, like nobody come to her restaurant. So she offered to buy something from her (a magic prayer) as a key to invite many people to her restaurant.

She was afraid, so asked my point of view regarding this problem.

" You know mam? It is already 2018 and you still believe in superstitious things? Oh really? (No no no, it's not like that actually, it was just a shock expression of mine inside my head).

"Mam, if you do believe the magic things mean that we are not believe in our God. He already provided us everything we need. Many and few buyers in business is normal, we are not always at the top, sometime must be at the bottom, so just believe in Allah, do what we need to do as normal and let Him fixes the rest of all, what we have to do is just give our best efforts and Prays, just that, if you believe in Allah, He will give something special for us. You know mam? In earning money, do not be focused on quantity but the quality, we are human being, if we focus on quantity, it would be never enough. Let me give you an example, have you ever seen the one who gambling or the one who selling drugs? She/ He earns lots of money in a day but most of them never really become rich, why? Because it is not "berkah" the money came from the wrong path"

Attempting and Praying

Sorry for my very long advice. But that's all I told her that finally change her perspective to open her mind and did not believe in superstitious thing.

Suddenly I stared at my watch and I saw it's already 9:40 am, Oh my God! I was late. Then I rode my bike to the place where I've planned to meet my friend.
