Ulog #3: Good Vibes
When life puts you on a downward spiral, how do you lift yourself up again?
One of the things I've learned is to count your blessings and to acknowledge all the good things happening around you.
Your colleague wins a lottery ticket? Congratulate him!
Someone offered to share their umbrella when you are caught in the rain?
Thank them.
Found a $1 bill on the ground? Pick it up and thank your lucky stars.
Every. Tiny. Detail.
One way to do it is to write it down. I used to write in a small notebook that I carry around. These days it's easy to just note them in your handphone using your voice recorder, notebook app or a specific app such as Gratitude365.
How does this work?
When you start writing about the good stuff, you will feel better and this generates good vibrations. The more good stuff, the more good vibrations. Now when you are in the positive frame of mind, you see things a little clearer and you come up with better solutions. Things will also start working in your favour for like attracts like.
Think the law of attraction.
Be warned though for the opposite works the same. Gather bad thoughts and negative vibrations will form around you.
How else can you create good vibrations?
Watch a happy show - a comedy, or maybe something that ends happily ever after.
Stick with happy people. You may not be up to meet people, but trust me you will be glad you did. Being around happy people definitely turns your mood around.
Ah, and nothing like a favourite photo to perk you up.
So how do you create good vibes for yourself? Share it on my comment box and spread the happiness!
Hahaha your child is too cute here, @ladylei!!!! You have some awesome vibes right there! :)
haha. Just some time ago I was mentioning something similar when a rabbi was suggesting to write down on a notebook (he specifically mentioned about writing it down I supposed it makes it more "solid" than just using the thumbs and fingers to write because of the purposeful intention)
There's a phrase that whenever I am down, I keep reminding myself
which sometimes it can be really hard; but that makes it more meaningful when we could spot a silver lining in all hardship.
Thank you so much for such a good reminder. I didn't know Gratitude365 is an app. lol...
