Groundnut Soup: How I Prepared One

in #ulog5 years ago

Hello everyone, it's been a while here, I hope we are all good?
So today I learnt how to make our native soup, the Groundnut/Peanut Soup.
The groundnut is a soup that is commonly eaten in my state, Edo, Nigeria. These are my recipes and procedures

Recipe
Grounded pepper, palm oil, salt to taste, Maggi cubes for seasoning, well blended(dry) groundnut mixed with a black thing like this, I don't know the English name but in my town, they call it iyere, fish( you can also add meat, crayfish, Pomo, Any other thing you wish to add), freshly cut bitter leaf (washed)

Procedure
Firstly I put water on fire, groundnut absorbs water, so I added a full bowl of water, not the big bowl lol. Then I added the pepper and left to boil. When it was boiled, I added palm oil, Maggi cubes and salt, I added fish and meat, I left to boil.
While it was boiling, in another boil, I poured the amount of groundnut I used and mixed with little palm oil for the groundnut to dissolve. Then I added it to the boiling stuff on fire😊. I left to cook again. You can stop at this point though but I didn't stop at that
Lastly I added the washed bitter leaves to the soup and left to steam for 3mins.
My soup is ready to be served.

You can eat peanut soup with eba, Amala ,pounded yam, rice, yam, anything goes. But I enjoyed mine with pounded yam😋😋
Go and make yours😚
