RE: Ulog #6: Bird Electric Scooters

Interesting, I hadn't heard of this. Not surprising though since only city limits are paved the remainder still too 'rustic' I think in the larger cities it would be a great idea. Less vehicles on the road, less pollution. Yet leave it to the cities themselves to spoil something good. I hope your city changes their mind and comes up with a worthy way for it to continue.

Sort:

Yea its a great idea that has some obstacles in place before it's excepted by everyone. Hopefully riders will be more considerate moving forward with where they leave them and being sure to abide by local laws.

I'm sure they will. Since where I live is a college town. Near the college they have pedestrian lanes and 'mobile' lanes for bikes, scooters and the sort. Since the streets are so narrow in the area (most of the town in fact) there are hardly any bike lanes. The expanded the sidewalks to add this in. We've had far less pedestrian and 'mobile' accidents since this was implemented.

That's awesome. I live in a college town as well. Arizona State University is right down the road from me. The city here could definitely continue to improve public roads to account for all the pedestrians, bicyclist, and non vehicle transportation.
