Ulog #2 Sawi Plants Tips
SAWI PLANT TIPS
Green mustard or vegetables which have the Latin name Brassica sinensis L are not difficult in cultivation. This is because green mustard can live in various places, both in the lowlands and in the highlands.
Another advantage is that mustard plants are vegetables that are resistant in any weather. Even so, we also cannot carelessly plant mustard greens. Improper planting methods will result in a lack of production.
For successful mustard gardening, here are the steps to grow a good mustard greens and can produce a lot of crops:
- Land Processing
The land used to grow mustard greens must be loose. Soil spraying is done by hoeing or using a tractor. In addition, the land to be used must be clean from weeds.
Other things that must be considered in the processing of land to grow mustard greens are as follows:
• Due to the nature of the mustard plant that likes sunshine, the soil to be used must be free of the objects / plants that shade it.
• For initial fertilization, organic fertilizer (manure) should be used with a ratio of 10 tons / ha.
• For areas that have acidic soil pH, calcification must first be carried out. Calcification can be done about 2-4 weeks before planting. This process can use dolomite (CaMg (CO3) 2) or calcite lime (CaCO3).
• Make beds with a width of 120 cm and height of beds ranging from 20-30 cm. Make the distance between beds about 30 cm.
• Fertilize one week before planting. The fertilizer used is TSP as much as 100 kg per hectare, and KCl 75 kg per hectare.
Seeding
Seedling of mustard plants can be done through several stages, namely:
• Seedlings. Make a seedling place with a size of 1.5 x 1.3 x 1 meter from bamboo. For the roof use a plastic roof. For nursery beds made in an area of approximately 120 cm.
• Sowing of Sawi Seeds. Spread 2 kg of manure, 20 grams of urea and on the bed. Sowing the fertilizer is done 2 weeks before the mustard seeds are sown. Sprinkle mustard seeds and cover with soil or fine compost about 1 to 2 cm thick.
• Transplanting process. The so-called Transplanting process is filling the seeding panel on the seedling media until it is full after it is moistened with water. Transplanting is done if the seeds are leafy 2-3 strands. Fill one plant hole with just one seed. Then keep the seedling panel in the seedling place for about 23-29 days.Planting
Planting is the process of placing seeds of mustard plants in agricultural land. Seedlings from seeding, then planting on the beds. Give the plant a distance of about 30 cm.Maintenance
• If the green mustard planting is done in the rainy season, water reduction must be done.
• Conversely, during the dry season, watering can be done once a day.
• Thinning, which is to remove and sort plants that grow with the distance between each plant too close. Thinning can be done after 10 days after planting.
• Embroidering, is the replacement of plants that are attacked by pests and diseases or plants that die with healthy plants.
• Weed 3 times during the planting period, or if needed.
• Perform supplementary fertilization. This is done after 25 days with 50 kg of urea / ha.
• And spray phytonutrients to make the plants greener and fresher.
Now that's a number of tips that I can share for all my friends, hopefully useful and can my friends practice.
