Ulogs: Google I/O 2018. Updates
The Google I/O event which kicked off @Google's Headquarters @Mountain View California, is doubt fun filled and successful. I have been watching closely with tweets from different participants. Even if i missed this year's event, surely next year, tit won't happen.
Here are some cool things Google just unveiled.
- A new feature powered by AI, we're launching Smart Compose in @gmail to help you draft emails more quickly by providing interactive suggestions as you type.
- Lighthouse 3.0 is launching! #io18
- New enhanced features for Google Maps, now has AI and Computer vision
- Android P, the latest Android operating system with super cool features
- Google Duplex : the most incredible, terrifying thing out of #IO18 so far... Example use case: Google Assistant calls a hair salon to book an appointment. The human booking the appointment has no idea she was talking to an AI. Humans quickly becoming expensive API endpoints.
- Full Chrome support on Linux
- ML Kit: a new tool on @Firebase for developers who want to incorporate machine learning into apps.
- Linux Applications now supported on chrome books
- Cloud to text speech now supports up to 36 languages
- Goolge Lens which allows you copy and paste in real world
