RE: A letter to hold Child Protective Services accountable
Oh how timely this is. My daughters' father likes to use CPS as a form of intimidation and violence, during our now ended domestic relationship and now. Using the threat of CPS is a well known and acknowledged abusive tactic in domestic relationships. And...it is an abuse tactic of the judicial system also. Despite CPS regularly "investigating" and giving the all clear, AND telling me that their very presence in my home is an abuse of power (his mother is a manager for CPS in the same district in which I live), they still keep responding to his efforts at abuse. And now...he has applied to have released to him the CPS file (every file has been closed quickly as there is never a threat to anyone in my home). He wants to read every word and note ever made during these "investigations." All of this with the intention of gaining some sort of advantage in the state sanctioned boxing match to the death that is custody trail. I find it ironic that as I make my plans to exit this system...it tightens its grip.
there has to be a new way for protecting abused women and children, this current system is a freaking joke! I I swear they are evil beings straight from the depths of hell. They say they are working for the protection of the children, but they are like the dysfuntional alcoholic aunt or uncle causing chaos and ripping families apart. Yes, a very small portion of parents should be watched over, but they mostly use their power and authority to make money and profits from families in the system. They are roaches living off of scraps of tattered pieces.
There is. By individuals leaving the system, learning how to self-govern and building strong communities on a whole new paradigm. That requires a great deal of healing which in turn will break the cycles of violence and bring peace within our lives. When we do that, we will all recognize that we are all responsible for the upbringing of our youth so that the burden is not on a single individual.
My blood starts to boil when people use the system to punish or abuse their prey. It is abusive, bulling, violent and coercive. The problem is that CPS cannot ignore it as that one millions complaint may actually have somebody in distress that needs help. But through all of it, it is still based on coercion, violence and force. I can share the letter with you and talk to you in great detail if you wish. But I want to wait to see how my friend does with it first.
The problem that most people face is that this letter is written from a spiritual jurisdiction, not from within the system. That requires a shift of jurisdiction which also requires a leap of faith too. As you can read on this post, people from within the system took offense to what I wrote and did not comprehend the spirit and jurisdiction from where it stands. From the point of view of something within the system, it would sound like absolute garbage. But I don't live or work from that jurisdiction. It takes a lot of work to make the switch and to see our relationships from the other side. When we do that, people from the in side think we are crazy because they don't comprehend what we are doing. I am open to talking more about this with you the next time we see each other.
