This has prompted UNICEF to launch a website “the hope page” which will enable them to mine cryptocurrency. The mining occurs when supporters’ computer processing power is put into play. This automatically generates funds for UNICEF Australia. This is strictly nonprofit as it will allow Australians provide help for children in need.

The website, Hope Page will allow supporters’ i.e. visitors choose how much processing power they want to contribute to the mining process. The site explains that the longer you stay on the site, the more cryptocurrency is mined. UNICEF state on their website

“Mining is perfectly safe for one’s computer. If you’ve ever been worried about the rate power consumption, you can simply turn down the magnitude of processing power you donate”

This campaign is devoid of needing people or donors to provide cash because any cryptocurrency acquired from mining is turned into real funds and is immediately donated to UNICEF Australia to enable them help the children in need of food, clean water and vaccines around the world.

The browser miner is powered by an opt-in version of the coinhisive API, AuthedMine, and mines the monero crypto currency. This is quite different from the regular Monero churning because the Hope Page expressly asks for confirmation from visitors. This mine for charity campaign was well received. This can be confirmed by the 1500 people who gave their computing power immediately the page was opened.

UNICEF has encouraged more people to follow suit in order to save the vulnerable children of the world in dire need of basic amenities.
