RE: Pink Lake Australia

in #uniqueesprit7 years ago

It is locally known as Lake Retba. The lake is separated from the Atlantic Ocean only by a narrow corridor of dunes, and is named for its pink waters, caused by Dunaliella salina algae. The algae produces a red pigment to assist in absorbing ligh.

It looks like a place from another planet, Mother Nature is amazing. Visit my blog if you want to see my art.
