Body Painted NFL Jersey
In this steemit post I will be talking about the art of body painting. In the video directly below, the painter Elsa Rhae gives us a step by step guide into the making of an NFL jersey. Personally, I wouldn't be wearing it to the game on Sunday - but that's just me.
First, she starts off with outlining the numbers in the jersey. In this case it would be the jersey of the Kansas City Chiefs and the number 29. She fills the outline in with white as her friend fills the entire upper body with the color red.
Next, she paints in the name (Eric Berry in this case) and outlines the numbers with yellow paint. She then does the exact same thing to the numbers on the arms.
To combat paint cracking she uses a powder called 'star-blend' over the entire painted shirt.
Now she starts painting around all the numbers and around Eric Berry's name in black paint. Elsa then begins to add shading to the uniform by using a complimentary color. In this case it appears dark red.
Finally she adds a white and yellow border or "cuff" (take a look at the arms and waist) to distinctly identify where the jersey cuts off. It also makes the jersey appear more natural. In addition, the border or 'cuff' also gives it a clean and finished look.
I hope you learned a few tips from reading this post and maybe one day you can give body painting or modeling a try. Don't be afraid to step out of your box!
