مشہور فلم ٹائیٹینک کے ہیرو لیئونارڈو ڈیکیپریو کا نام لیئونارڈو اس لئے رکھا گیا کیونکہ اس کی حاملہ والدہ اٹلی میں ایک عجائب گھر میں لیئونارڈو ڈا وِنچی کی ایک تصویر دیکھ رہی تھیں جب لیئونارڈو نے پہلی بار انکے پیٹ میں ٹانگ ماری تھی۔

ایشیائی ہاتھی کے کان کی شکل انڈیا کے نقشے جیسی ہوتی ہے اور افریقی ہاتھی کے کان کی شکل افریقہ کے نقشے جیسی ہوتی ہے۔
