The Empire State Building, a high-rise building completed on April 11, 1931, is one of the landmarks of New York City, USA. It is located at 350 Fifth Avenue, between West 33rd and West 34th Streets in Manhattan.
The Empire State Building is the skyscraper that has held the status of the world's tallest building for the longest period of time (1931-1972 for a total of 41 years). It is 381 meters high, with 102 floors, and after the addition of a 62-meter-high antenna in 1951, the total height was 443.7 meters, which was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon Architects in Art Deco style.
The Empire State Building is a multi-purpose office building and one of New York City's most popular tourist attractions, with a large number of visitors queuing up for the elevator ride to the top every day.
In 1955, the American Society of Civil Engineers recognized the Empire State Building as one of the seven engineering wonders of the modern world. The New York Landmarks Commission selected it as a New York City Landmark, and in 1986 the building was recognized as a National Historic Landmark.
