I have always been intrigued by money and how it evolved in to what it is today.
From what i have learnt things really began to change when the Rothschild family was running a depository where people would store their gold and carry a receipt for said gold instead of lugging around tons of the precious metal, eventually it became more convenient to trade receipts which led to the birth of fiat and Rothschild family becoming very wealthy and powerful.

Fun Fact
US dollars are not actually made of paper they are made from linen and
the dollar bill itself only has a lifespan of around 21 months.
