Project Details

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser. Node.js unifies web application development around a single programming language, rather than different languages for server side and client side scripts. I'm a big fan of Node.js because sites like PayPal use it to power up their platform, its fast and reliable, Node.js is so common that is practically everywhere.

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview

This time I continued the translation of the same file I been working since the last reports, the CHANGELOG_V5.md file. This chunk of the file is for the Version 5.6.0 and 5.5.0 of Node.js, they were stable and had many changes from its predecessor. All of this file belongs to the Node.js 5 ChangeLog. As said in past reports a changelog is a list of the changes being made to the new version of node.js. The security seems to be the priority every time I see a typo in English, I translated to its correct form in Spanish.

Each line is translated in the changelog is in this form:

[62fb941557] - test: fix irregular whitespace issue (Roman Reiss) #4864nice

The first part of the line is a code that helps the organization and location of the fix. The second part is the actual fix, this time a new term is mentioned, whitespace, this term refers to one or more characters that create a space when rendered, it can be a vertical u horizontal space. The use of a white space is to help separate the objects in a document, like the text or the graphics and make such document easier to read.

Another new term used in this contribution was Unary, that terms refer to a mathematical operation with only one operand, in this context is an operator that takes only one operand, it can be before or after the operator.

  • Examples:

operator operand or operand operator

Those terms are left untranslated

You can learn more about this terms here:

Languages

This contribution was translated to Spanish using English as the source language. My experience as an engineer and a translator in past crowdin projects have helped me vastly in this translation.

Word Count

You may check this project's activity following this link and clicking on the Top Members tab. There, if you filter the search options to show only the translations between October 23rd and 24th (when I did the translation), it will show a report of 1216 words translated next to my crowdin account (which shares the same name as my steem account).
