Description

Quality of contributions is the highest priority for Utopian and extensive measures are taken to ensure that all content approved by Utopian meets the highest standards.

Utopian has developed a process of checks-and-balances to ensure quality and authenticity of each submission. At the heart of this verification process is a collection of specific categories into which Contributors can submit their work and rules to govern each category.

Learn about Utopian's evaluation process

It is important that contributors follow these rules carefully when authoring their submissions. Submissions not following the appropriate rules will be rejected by moderators during the evaluation process.

Moderators make efforts to inform contributors of the reasons why submissions have been rejected. They will leave specific comments in contributors’ posts and invite contributors to discuss any outstanding issues for clarification in the Utopian Discord channel. Moderators will clarify rules for contributors and suggest strategies to help contributors fit their future submissions within the rules of the most appropriate category.

Learn about category rules

To assist Contributors in creating their content and Moderators in evaluating this content, Utopian has developed a thorough set of rules for each of contribution category. These rules address a variety of unique criteria in each category and function as a guide for contributors to use when authoring their submissions. Moderators use the rules for each category as a rubric for evaluating each submission and can accept or reject submissions based on their compliance with the rules.

These rules can be found at utopian.io/rules.

Learn about rules versus guidelines

Some rules have to be followed with no exception and will result in an immediate rejection if not followed. Some others are suggestions or guidelines which may not result in an immediate rejection, but contributors can be rejected if the guideline is ignored repeatedly.

Learn about general rules

Along with the rules to help govern each of the contribution categories, Utopian has created a set of general rules regarding acceptable behaviours of all Utopian Contributors.

  • Post Writing and Style

All Utopian submissions must be presented in formal and informative language. Informal language and incorrect grammar can result in the rejection of submission.

  • Contribution Value, Volume and Detail

Unique ideas and original thought is important to Utopian. Contributors must strive to add new perspectives and thought to the Utopian ecosystem. Contributors should strive to create rich and engaging submissions which thoroughly explore topics.

  • Submission Language

Contributions may only be submitted in clearly written and spoken English language.

  • Github Integration and Repositories

Github integration is essential to Utopian contributions and contributors are provided with clear requirements in this regard.

  • Submission Originality

Plagiarism is a serious offence and contributors submitting plagiarised work risk being banned from the platform.

  • Contribution Authorship

Utopian must be able to verify the authorship of content submitted. Contributors must provide Moderators with information required to validate the identity of the contributor as the post author.

  • Forbidden Content

Utopian does not allow the submission of certain types of unacceptable content, such as commercial and copyrighted materials, spam, defamatory content, solicitation, religious or political content.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial. If you have any specific questions for me feel free to leave it in the comments of this post and I will do my best to get back to you with an answer.

Seriously, @buckydurddle. Thanks for doing this. I need to understand a little bit more about Utopian.io and see that I really need to be a part of the discord channel. I wish posts like this were on the trending page instead of pointless memes... a utopian ideal... ( know, one can dream!) Resteemed.
