My logo contribution to yopass
Details
Yopass a project that help to enable secrets message been sent in a quick and secure way. The message is encrypted/decrypted locally in the browser and then sent to yopass without the decryption key which is only visible once to the user during encryption, yopass then returns a one-time URL with specified expiry date.
I contacted the project owner, if there is need for a logo, of which he agreed. After making several suggestion, we finally concluded on the right logo to use.
My main goal is to make the logo simple and modern. I made use of three elements
- A lock hole
- A message bubble
- Share button
lock hole: is to show secretly, when used on Yopass. It is use to denote. Secrets message.
Message bubble: I made use of two message bubble to show, incoming and out going message.
Share button: the is to encompass the function of the project. Which is a project that help to enable secrets message been shared in a quick and secure way.
I made use of myriad pro because of the level of thickness and how cool it is on the logo type

In my opinion, it looks you put so many ideas on logo design and because of that design looks complex. I think the main function of the project is 'secret messages', so we can eliminate the share idea.
Please avoid to give gradient color to all letters separately. I think it's not a good choice. Also, the color contrast between the light green,dark green and dark blue is looks weak, and it reduces visibility of the design.

But your decision about removing the share idea from your own view may seems right as a designer. But honestly the view of the project owner and what other people think also need to be considered.
