It has been a little over a week since I launched www.gridcoin.science, and what a week! The site aimed to provide a landing for new members to the community, and has seen traffic that far exceeded my expectations. I have just now launched the V1.1 build, which contains the following changes and fixes:

  • Replacement of placeholder stock images, including Halförd.

  • Changes of numerous descriptions to clarify concepts better to new learners
  • Dozens of spelling and formatting fixes and improvements
  • Updates and additions of several links to ease navigation
  • Metadata improvements and additions to aid social media promotion.

I would like to thank the community for the endless suggestions, fixes and other notes you guys and girls have sent me over the last week - both through GitHub's issue tracker and other platforms. Your help and support is invaluable, and I hope you will continue to help improve the project. Special thanks to @deltik for his continued support.

GitHub commits can be found here (content) and here (metadata). I have also synched this project with my Utopian profile, and will be issuing task requests in the near future.

Just had a look at the website and ill be honest, I'm, not 100% on what gridcoin is but the projects have sparked my interest. Thanks for sharing!

The projects obtain compute power through volunteers, who do the research work by running the software BOINC. What Gridcoin does is reward that volunteer work. Initially, this helped the volunteers to offset their power costs, but now it is possible to turn a tidy profit for contributing to science.

For example, I am being paid to help search for pulsars near the galactic core.

And this should be written on the website.

Reading your old posts, 5 months ago, you wrote:

"These faucets are sponsored by community members, and give out a small amount of Gridcoin to each visitor, every day, for free."

Is this still the case, does faucets still give away some free coin?

Thanks, will try to start today, if my poor computer is not too slow for this :-)

Thank you for the contribution. It has been approved.

The only thing I'm am missing is a slightly more detailed README.md... but I'm sure this will be fixed in an upcoming update. ;)

Why did you choose to create a new website instead of contribute to the open source gridcoin.us repo? https://github.com/gridcoin-community/Gridcoin-Site/

Hi, thanks.
Great information! I am looking forward to more of your posts.

BTW I want to provide lots of value on Steemit as well. Therefore, I now started writing here on this platform about artificial intelligence. Check out my latest blog post --> https://steemit.com/technology/@martinmusiol/understanding-artificial-intelligence-blog-post-3-how-does-ai-identify-objects-in-images

I follow you know, resteemed and liked your post.

Best,

Ah, another lying scumbag.

I follow you know, resteemed and liked your post.

Do you really have zero idea how quickly I can check this? Enjoy your flag.

Stop writing the same thing on everyone's post or I am pinging the cleanup crew.

Here, you have an upvote instead haha.
