Description

Gridcoin is a cryptocurrency that rewards participants for contributing their unused computer processing power to solve scientifical tasks. Beside this users can stake the rewards in form of GRC Coins in a wallet. The scientifical tasks are coming from whitelisted projects, for example the BOINC project.

I was drawn to that project because I have already been a volunteer user of BOINC, especially for the SETI@home project to search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Now with Gridcoin my computer not only serves as a power unit for these projects but is also a "minting station" for Gridcoins in the same time. That's why I like to support that idea.

My work

The Source language is English and I translated it into German. In this step, I translated 1235 words which are 100% of the Whitepaper Version 1.0.1 and 50% of the complete project on CrowdIn. I will also translate the older version 1.0.0 of the Whitepaper when the LM @infinitelearning has approved this work to ensure a consistent translation in both versions.

Although this is a whitepaper that would allow a more formal wording, the translation needs to be done in a well-readable manner to keep it attractive to new users who want to educate. In order to keep this as a basis I tried to avoid repeating of some terms, for example "Voting" and "Abstimmung" for "Vote".
I again left abbreviations untranslated but commented such as: OER – Open Education Resources = "offene Bildungsressourcen" since this is a core aspect of Gridcoin which makes it quite unique to this project and can be seen as a unique term.

Besides this, footnotes are left unchanged as well and were filled in by copy & paste to avoid typing mistakes in URLs.
