The power of 1Steem: A visit to the orphanage

Hello steemians today i'll be showing you how 1steem can put a smile on people's faces.
The Steemversity community which includes some notable creative and kindhearted minds decided to pay a visit to the orphanage home in Lagos State, Nigeria

We visited the orphanage home on the 7th of September 2018 with some food items which included yam tubers, a bag of rice, vegetable oil and toiletries and also warm greetings to the children through the help of this great platform.
We decided to use steemit as a platform to touch the lives of the 'neglected' in our society.

On arriving the home we were welcomed by the matron of the orphanage home. She expressed deep joy and appreciation for our visit and brought to our notice the fact that they actually lacked the specific items we brought citing that our visit was a divine direction.

The children on the other hand were very excited and happy to see us and the various items that accompanied our visit. The joy in their hearts could be as smiles on their faces..

It was indeed an unforgettable experience with these kids and indeed, the power of steemit as a community for empowering the poor and needy in our society cannot be over emphasized.
Some of the older kids who were up to the age of using a mobile device were interested in being part of the steemit community, during the teams presentation on steem community by me..

The steemit platform can be more that blogging and earning, it can also be a tool for showing love and care to others within our community.
