I have only been a plankton steemian for a short while, and as I troll through the various content, I am looking for posts like this that inspire me with the possible. Thank you for this post and for the inspirational tone, its posts like this that keep me motivated to spend more time figuring out how to potentially use my programming and developer skills in his platform.

The Steemmakers project is superb in my opinion, as it'll help support novice makers here on Steemit, and get them rewarded for helping others.
You can always check out Utopian.io to see if they've got any interesting tasks that need doing, or open source projects listed you think you could help with.
They reward quite handsomely for good contributions, as you can see above :)
