My Application to be an Utopian-io Moderator

in #utopian-io7 years ago

 Background Information
As a 23 years old electrical and electronic engineer i’m currently working in a computer aided design software production company and seeking master opportunities in Germany. With fluent english and turkish i can also express myself in german and able to speak basic, survival polish. I have knowledge and experience on both electronic properties of microcontrollers and softwares, programing languages related to their control. For more information and projects you may check my website, ongundemirag.com

 Intention
From the first day that i started writing in Utopian.io, it’s support, perspective and attitude towards open source projects always inspired and motivated me. I wrote my very first contribution 3 months ago about the usage of Fritzing. From that day i wrote 22 tutorials about topics including but not limited to, electronic circuit design, probability distributions & random variables, Java to analyze signals and extend it's libraries to parse, analyse data. Currently with the goal of sharing my prior knowledge about the community and helping other people to spread this unique platform, i wanted to proceed further and apply for moderation.

 Contributions to the community
Below are some of my approved contributions,
  • Two and three dimensional plotting with 'Octave'
  • Coin toss simulation with Monte Carlo method
  • Function generation in Octave from scratch part 1
  • Improving translators performance by using Jsoup
  • Making and designing a translator with Jsoup

  •  Categories that i want to moderate
Because of the fact that i started doing tutorials, i want to share my experience and knowledge in this category to the members. Thereby my priority or main interest is to be a tutorial and video-tutorial moderator. Moreover if needed i can also take a role as development category moderator in reference to my study, work and programing interest/background.

     Team
Lately i been following the posts and evaluations of @Jestemkioskiem. Since i witnessed that Jestem’s comments and behaviors are very helpful and positive, i believe that we could easily get along well.

     Sample Evaluations
Here are some of my sample evaluations about pending tutorials,
  • Proximity detector with ultrasonic transducer and arduino using fritzing: Tutorial 3
  • Your contribution can not be approved because it doesn't follow the Utopian Rules:
Your contribution should be in arduino's repo since to test you’re coding it in there. By fritzing you can only design it. Moreover several sensor applications are already made by arduino. here here or here As it can be seen in rules "Submissions addressing only circuit design and/or the build of specific electronic modules will be rejected." just introducing each sensor is quite basic and not valuable to the community.
  • Using Tensorflow to recognize handwritten characters
  • Your contribution can not be approved because it doesn't follow the Utopian Rules:
The contribution has wrong repo, you should link the official repo of the project/ open source software that you're using not your own one. "Submissions that include a GitHub repository with additional materials (like code samples), should be linked to the repository of the original project discussed in the tutorial and not the supplementary repository created for the contribution. Links to the supplementary repository for the post should be included in the submission post."
  • Creating API end points with Laravel.
  • Your contribution can not be approved because it doesn't follow the Utopian Rules: Formatting is bad, since there are codes that are not in code block, style is not formal and professional your contribution cannot be approved. “The writing style should be formal and informative.” Make sure to put the codes in the code blocks from next time. Moreover, also work on the formatting of your post.
