The community of Utopia’s fans frequently asks questions about the functional and technical sides of the ecosystem.

Today, I decided to open the veil of mystery and answer the most interesting questions about the ecosystem. The answers covered various aspects of both Utopia and internet security in general.

P.S.: Don’t worry if you haven’t found the answer to an important question. You can comment your questions, I'll publish answers to your questions later.

1. How did you come up with the idea of creating an ecosystem? What prompted you to do this?
Utopia is a common initiative of developers-enthusiasts who decided to remain anonymous on the internet. Why? Everything is simple — to exclude any attempts to influence from outside.

In recent years, we’ve watching news about hacker attacks that have been appeared on the internet. We’ve read how any attempts to ensure online security has been gradually destroyed. We’ve spoken about the increasing influence of censorship and government agencies. The team has decided to create a system that would allow users to remain anonymous and secure.

After the Utopia creation, it has become a free ecosystem where there is no censorship, surveillance, or data leakage. In the first place — anonymity, privacy, freedom of speech, security, and confidentiality.
Now, Utopia is a platform that ensures citizens’ rights and freedoms, protects us from total surveillance and censorship, and allows us to feel comfortable and safe on the internet.

2. What goal do you plan to achieve with the help of the ecosystem?
Utopia’s main idea is to create a community of like-minded people who want to build an online system that ensures freedom of speech and movement on the internet. This system will be able to preserve our rights and lay the foundation for a highly technological future in which there will be no hacker attacks.

Only together we can implement this plan since Utopia is at the beginning of its path. The more users — the greater progress of the system. And the more likely to ensure data security and privacy.

3. Is Utopia a commercial project? What funds were used to create it? Or is everything based on mutual assistance?
Utopia is a non-profit project. Third parties or companies do not sponsor it. All the funds that were needed to create the projects were invested voluntarily by our team members.

These are the specialists who were able to finance the project. Each of us is a qualified professional who achieved success in his field and provided himself with a stable financial cushion.

Our goal is to make free and open internet for everyone. In addition, we’ve done everything possible to provide people with not only a stable connection but also a secure internet surfing system.

We’ve created an alternative platform free of corporate surveillance and hacking of personal correspondence. Utopia is a place where everyone can hope for freedom of speech without consequences.

After all, our children will also be able to use this system. And we are not indifferent to the fate of people close to us.

4. Do you know the exact number of ecosystem participants to date? How fast is the system growing?
Now, Utopia has about 100K followers. Every day, this number is growing thanks to our users. They share the information about the ecosystem in their social networks, talk about functional features to their friends and relatives, etc.

Do you remember the old golden proverb: ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’? Therefore, people who test the ecosystem for fun and interest stay with us for a long time.

We think it’s all about the user-friendly interface, stable performance, and the degree of security and data privacy.

5. Let’s imagine that we don’t know anything about cybersecurity/privacy, e.t.c. How can you convince us that we need to use Utopia in a short time?
Well. In this case, we have a few leading questions:

— How often do you use the Internet for business and fun issues in your daily routine?
— Do you only use popular search engines and apps?
— Has your data ever been publicly available?
— Are you sure about the answer to the last question?

So, the main question is the last one. About 99.9% of the audience will answer ‘no’. Because they really can’t know for sure whether their data was publicly available or not.

The next question is how to find out and prevent data leakage? Here, the concept of cybersecurity and privacy appears. Above all, one another privacy tool can help prevent data leaks and hacks. Besides, it ensures cybersecurity and privacy matters on the internet.

6. What do you think will happen if everyone starts to use Utopia?
We hope that when all people start using Utopia, we will be able to defend our rights to freedom of speech and action in the global Internet space.

Imagine, there is no censorship, and no one tracks your actions, strangers and third parties do not copy your data. You can freely surf the net, staying absolutely anonymous, and at the same time, perform any activities in the ecosystem space. It’s a miracle!
This is our big dream.

7. Why should we trust you? Maybe you will track our actions on the Internet and sell data in the same way as big corporations do.
Of course, you have the right to think so. However, using popular apps, messengers, and search engines, you don’t think about the threats that these tools daily use bring.

However, you are well aware that the owners of such systems cooperate with the state and advertising agencies and large promotion companies. And for some reason, you are not confused by this fact.

While our team is completely anonymous. No one can influence our actions. In addition, Utopia uses automatic encryption and data protection methods that only account owners have access to. None of our team has access to either the users’ crypto storage or the system component.

8. In a time of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc., no one cares about their Privacy. What would be an important example that you can share to tell the general audience the importance of Privacy?
It’s no secret that popular search engines and social media are a plague-spot of insecure Internet connections. We find hundreds of news related to data leaks or hacking of various social media accounts of celebrities, business people, etc.
Therefore, Internet privacy issues should be taken more seriously than many people are used to thinking.

9. You’ve said that the Utopia’s users help to promote the ecosystem. What exactly do they do?
There are many ways to spread Utopia. Each of our users can choose any method and help in implementing the main idea of the community.

The most important thing is to talk about the ecosystem’s advantages and functionality as much as possible. As a rule, the main focus is on user anonymity within the ecosystem. This thing attracts many users. Many are tired of endless surveillance and censorship. Utopia is a place where everyone can feel free.

The next method is to share the ecosystem’s link on social networks. We know that social media is a great tool for promoting any product or service.

More advanced and media users then talk about Utopia in their blogs, websites, and personal pages.
Many people use the ecosystem to solve work issues when they need 100% confidence in the confidentiality of the transmitted documents.

Another way is the so-called ‘rumour mill’. Offline communication mode is not possible around the clock, and people can continue the conversation in online mode. The main thing is to continue chatting in a confidential and secure mode, for example, using Utopia.

10. Today, there are two ways: to use open source code and closed one. Why is Utopia not open source?
You’re right. Today, the Internet community is divided into two sides: those who use open source code, and those who use closed source code. Such well-known services use the first one as Twitter, WhatsApp, and Facebook. One of the main advantages is that the code is available for learning. The main disadvantage is the unstable operation of the system since the code is continuously updated. Besides, it is more subjected to hacker attacks, since it is in the public domain. And these are the huge minuses. We can’t undermine users’ security.

Therefore, we’ve decided to use a closed source code and restricted open access. Utopia is a revolutionary ecosystem that has no analogs yet. If we disclose technical data for public access, we risk losing the entire system’s stability and security. That’s why we update and make changes by our team without the intervention of third parties.

Moreover, we’ve used several unique technical developments to create a reliable data storage and protection system. However, we cannot patent our developments, as our team has decided to remain anonymous. This way was chosen to avoid pressure from the state. It means that if our intellectual property is stolen, we will not be able to represent our interests in the court, since the team is anonymous.

Choosing anonymity — we choose to exclude the pressure from outside organizations. Thanks to it, we can provide a high level of security for using the ecosystem.

11. Tell us more about the system’s cryptocurrency. Do developers have plans to add cryptons to the international crypto market?
Cryptons is a special cryptocurrency that was developed to ensure the security of payment transactions within the ecosystem. Using cryptons, people can make purchases, pay for services, and transfer finances to any other account. All financial actions are encrypted and don’t expose to danger to any user.

Soon, we expect that cryptons will be added to the international cryptocurrency market. The official Crypton ticker is CRP. Therefore, we can talk about a separate promotion of a new secure cryptocurrency.

12. Utopia was created using a uNS — alternative to DNS. Tell us why uNS is better than its competitor in terms of security and functionality?
uNS is a secure alternative to traditional DNS. As you know, DNS has been repeatedly subjected to pressure from state authorities and strict censorship of various international laws. Its domains can be either revoked or completely suspended. These actions can lead to total system failure. In other words, DNS is a directory of simple and figurative domain names, including readable IP addresses.

While uNS is a decentralized registry that is not censored, it cannot be affected, suspended, or brought down. Utopia’s users host it. Therefore, there is one rule of its operation: first come, first served.

13. Utopia uses multi-level encryption based on an Elliptic Curve 25519 and 256-bit AES to store and protect data. Is it enough to protect all data, or have developers used something else?
Unfortunately, we can’t disclose all the nuances of the ecosystem’s technical base, as we have previously mentioned. We can say that as one of the main methods of data protection and storage, we use complex encryption based on the elliptical curve of 25519 and 256-bit AES. This method guarantees the protection and confidentiality of user data.
However, the main idea of encryption is based on a multi-level and combined structure based on the use of the best technical characteristics from the fields of blockchain and cryptography. And the method described above is only part of this structure that we can make public. The other structural parts of the encryption method are classified to avoid hacker attacks.

14. Today, only a few people seriously think about Internet security and anonymity. Is it possible to change the attitude of internet users to this issue? Can you make your forecast for the next 5 years? What exactly will the internet look like?
We believe that nothing is impossible. The question is your approach.

Our team has decided to make a free and anonymous platform for surfing the internet to change the current situation with a dismissive attitude to cybersecurity issues.

Therefore, it is a question of desire. We do our best to ensure that every Internet user thinks about this topic and tries to protect himself and his data.

How do we see the Internet in 5 years? This is an interesting, complex, and at the same time, tricky question. After all, we hope that it will be more secure and structured than now.

I hope this article covers most of your questions regarding Utopia. Stay tuned for the next article in the series. Thanks
