Jamaica is Booked!!
Going to Jamrok!
January flights from YYZ to MBJ are selling out quick so I reserved two spots. Nobody really wants to spend an entire winter in Toronto so any direct flight at a normal time, for a reasonable price from Dec 21 to March 21 is particularly hard to find. Everything worked out well in the end and I'm glad to have it settled. If you have a specific spot in mind, the best time to reserve a flight is around 4 months before. There won't be any great last-minute deals to Jamaica during high season at any time that may be convenient-you're likely to lose a day or two or arrive mid-week.
I hope to meet some of the people behind #ReggaeSteem when down there, review plenty of places and let you all know that Jamaica is an amazing place to visit. We will be staying in Negril, Jamaica and blogging about all the things to do down there. I've never been to Jamaica but have plenty of travel experience to compare it to. Really looking forward to this trip and will be filling in the gaps as time progresses. As a big fan of Jamaican culture the more I look into this the more the anticipation builds. For now, I can only dream as the Canadian weather gets cooler.
We aren't all-inclusive resort type of people and prefer to explore and immerse ourselves in the local culture and scenery. There will be plenty of drink sipping and lounging around though-just not at the same spot all the time. A few days on the beach and a few days on the cliffs is the plan. Can't wait!
Wow, this is so exciting! I'm really looking forward to the posts from your trip!
Really looking forward to this one and letting everyone know about it
I'm gonna want a review of some of the local weed..
Customs Form: Did you visit any farms on your trip? No mann
You are one lucky guy.
My very first visit to Jamaica was in 87’. I was living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was January and the temperature was on this side of frigid. So had my long johns on and heavy winter coat. It was so wrong. Just off the plane I met my friends and ASAP stripped off all that clothing. It was eighty degrees. Don’t bring any socks, they are not needed. Travel light.
I would stay the beach for your stay and take a-few night trips via taxi to the cliffs. Hit Ricks Cafe once for the experience and then pick a place for a nice sunset dinner.
O’ ya gotta try jerk at
Three Dives (pronounced Tree Dives).
I’ll be posting again soon,
maybe give you some ideas.
Respect
No socks? They'll kick me off the golf course!
I've already reserved a couple of places, one on the beach and one on the cliffs. I will post about them soon! Will definitely check out Three Dives.
Cheers
You are gonna have so much fun. Looking forward to the blogs and reviews. Bless UP!
Too bad you can't come out
Sounds like a trip, Cat. Hope you get to meet some of the team while there.
I also like to try to “blend” in with the locals when traveling. Who wants to stay at a margaritaville when in Jamaica ? You can do that anywhere.. LOL
best to find some local joints and as they say, “when is Rome, do as the Roman’s do...”
Have a nice trip, look forward to seeing updates from the trip
Ya monn

It's a sad reality but places like Margaritaville are often packed. If I want America, I'll visit Florida. I'm 99% sure I'll meet some of the team. @miyard is gonna be one of our first stops.
@crypticat, Good to know that and wishing you wonderful time out there. Looks like you've picked a perfect time. Stay blessed.
