It's summer vacation !!!!

When you're going to the Netherlands on a vacation trip you may want to read this blog.
I'm going to write in particular about what to do on a vacation in Amsterdam :).

You'll probably know the tourist attractions in Amsterdam from the many sites you have visit.
I will tell you some history , some attractions and warnings.

First of all I want to tell that Amsterdam is a verry nice city to be on vacation if you love the fuss, It's a city that (almost) never sleeps.

The history of Amsterdam is the first thing to talk about because it all started there.
Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and by population the largest municipality of the Netherlands.
The occupation history of Amsterdam begins more than 4600 years ago at the end of the New Stone Age.
In the mouth of the Amstel, probably after the floods of 1170 and 1173, the Dam was constructed where Amsterdam took its name.

In the 15th century, Amsterdam became the most important trading city in Holland by exporting beer and herring.
On the extension of the city, annular canals were dug, for defense and for water management.

The houses were built on a foundation of tall wooden poles that supported the sandy layer under the draughty bottom layer. The use of wood as a building material made the city vulnerable to city fires during the Middle Ages. In 1421 this became a third and in 1452 even three quarters of the city was destroyed.

Around 1570, Amsterdam counted less than 30,000 inhabitants, in 1622 their number had grown to over 100,000. By the end of the 17th century, the population exceeded 200,000 and Amsterdam was one of the largest cities in Europe with London, Naples and Paris.

With the dawn of the industrial revolution, a new period of expansion began. Renewal of trade, new industry and a population explosion that was captured in the 19th century belt. The population doubled from around 250,000 around 1850 to 510,000 in 1900.

The Second World War cost about 110,000 Amsterdammers lives.
Of the vast Jewish community, the majority, about 75,000 Jews, did not survive the occupation. The resistance movement was extensive in Amsterdam, and continued groups like Free Netherlands and the artist movement with Gerrit van der Veen. Anne Frank drove into the city and wrote her world-famous diary.

In the 1970s, urban renewal began urbanization, attracting both families and businesses in the city, looking for more space. The advent of highly educated and well-earned young people in their place reinforced the support for hospitality and all other service activities. From 1984, the number of inhabitants increased again after twenty years.

I'll write some attractions that may be interesting for tourists.
I'll begin with the Dam.
The Dam is in the center of Amsterdam.
The Dam is a large square with a number of monuments, One of the monuments is the Royal Palace.

On the left side of the Dam is the washing museum Madame Tussaud, Here you can visit the most famous artists like Micheal Jackson, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
When you buy a ticket online you are paying 19,50 Euros for one 16+ ( adult) ticket when you buy a ticket on the door the price will be 23,50 Euros for one 16+ (adult) ticket.

There is a whole City full of shops were you can shop until you drop! there are stores with brands but also the cheaper stores.
The whole city is one shopping mall so for a shop-a- holic it's maybe even heaven!

With nice weather you have a number of parks in the city that you can visit for free.
The Vondelpark is Amsterdam's most famous park but certainly not the only park in the city center, you'll have Het Rembrandtpark and Het amstelpark.
The most famous forest is the Amsterdam Forest with free entrance.
In early Amsterdam, the cherry blossom garden is blooming in the Amsterdam Forest for about 2 weeks.

The Netherlands have many coffeeshops you can visit and buy some stuff totally legal!!

If you want to see more of the canals, you can request a tour at the Central Station for the boat.

Due to the crowds in the city, things are often stolen. Make sure you have all the important and valuable stuff near you in a place where nobody can steal it.

The weather in the Netherlands changes very quickly! Make sure you do not get sick.

If you want to buy some drugs Don't do it on the streets!! There are many coffeeshops that are legal in Amsterdam!
It's not only illegal to buy drugs from the streets but it's very dangerous too!!
Many dealers put chemicals in the drugs and don't tell you so they make more profit, You don't only become sick but you can die if it's to much for your body!
Be responsible and don't buy drugs from the streets!!

Make sure you look to the nearest hospital and how to get there! Something can always happen! Don't forget The emergency number of The Netherlands!!
It's important to know the emergency number for when you need help from the police, hospital or the fire department!!
The emergency number from the Netherlands is 112

When you plan everything BEFORE you go on a vacation everything is going to be okay!

I wish you a nice vacation in Amsterdam!
