Whale sharks and Flamingo Bay

How about a true African experience?

One of the most breath taking experiences, far away from the stresses of the modern world, you'll find in Mosambique. Mosambique is located on the east coast of Africa. Flamingo Bay is highly recommended for a vacation of your life. It is near Inhambane and the roads leading to it are very rough.

The best way to get there is by plane, but beware, the landing stroke is not very smooth and there are no fancy machines in the airport. Your suit cases will be opened and checked by hand. All contributes to that original typical African experience.

Flamingo Bay itself provides for a five star experience. The wooden cabins are very private, each with its own veranda. It is very peaceful and no kids below 12 years of age are allowed, to enhance this experience even further. Ideal for honey moon! The services are five star and they treat you like a king.

The highlight here is the snorkeling. Depending on the tides, you'll snorkel below your cabin in the morning and by dinner time, you'll walk on the sand to the main building. It's almost unbelievable to think that a few hours ago there was so much water and now it's gone!

The snorkelling is almost like a scuba dive adventure in a fish tank. Lots and lots of fish and all you have to do are to wait for the incoming tide and have access by using the staircase on your veranda. There are also wide beaches and the opportunity to various deep sea activities. We were lucky enough to go diving with a whale shark. The experience of a life time! The majestic nature of this huge shark cannot be described.

This adventure is truly recommended for those who want an African adventure along the beach! It was the best time of fun in the sun I had for years and obviously, the romantic evenings were the cherry on the cake!
